Main Street Makeover

Walt-Disney is going to be filming part of a movie right here in Magna. The production crew has already arrived and has been busy giving Main Street a little makeover so it will be camera ready. A lot of the existing buildings are having new facades put on and new signs hung up. The Empress Theater will be a focal point for the filming. Junior High age kids are also being sought as extras for the filming next week. We have been told there are also going to be a lot of neon lights set up, so Main Street may really be lit up next week. We will have all the details available in a special report in next week's paper.

Farewell Blue Moon

The Blue Moon Bar and Cantina closed its doors last week. Any items or fixtures remaining in the building were sold. The new occupants of the building are, of all things . . . a church!

An understatement?

"What I can see is, there are a lot of homes, a lot of properties throughout Magna that need to be addressed by the code enforcement office, and I honestly don’t know where to start."

- Magna's new code enforcement officer, Pepper Mosinger.

Rollover on 3500 South and 8400 West

A flat bed trailer heading south on 8400 West rolled after turning east onto 3500 south. The truck carrying cardboard, crashed around 5 p.m. on October 4th. As of 10/5/2007 a police report was not available. There appeared to be no injuries, but the accident did create a backup for rush hour commuters. More information will be available in this weeks print edition.
